The koloskodimow duo consists of critically acclaimed guitarist Nathan Kolosko and
the eclectic and always original Carl Dimow on flute and bass flute. The duo formed in
2005 and has released their first recording, nostalgia - music from brazil, venezuela &
argentina on Fleur de Son Classics.
nostalgia features works by Villa-Lobos, Antonio Lauro, Baden Powell and others.
Kolosko and Dimow collaborated on original arrangements for this recording, which
frequently feature the unique and enchanting combination of bass flute and guitar.
The duo strives to break new ground and eliminate the boundaries between classical
music and other genres. Whatever the genre, they bring a creative and refined originality
to everything they interpret, arrange and perform.
Nathan's collaborations with Visual artist Ling-Wen Tsai began in 2005 with the
performance piece entitled metamorphosis of meditation. Since then they have
collaborated on several Performance and video projects including water & wind and
lines.
Works from the video series water & wind have been featured in exhibitions at: Portland
Museum of Art, Maine; Heaven Gallery, Chicago; Frame - International Video Festival,
Escola das Artes- Porto, Portugal; Green Galley, Milwaukee; SPACE Gallery, Portland,
Maine.
Kolosko and Tsai are currently working on several performance pieces that will create a
seamless unity between music, movement and visual art.
